Mountain biking french Alps
La Clusaz, in the french
Alps, develops its mountain biking
activities. Having created a new downhill trail in 2005
on the Beauregard massif, the resort is making even more
improvements: La Ferriaz and La Grenêche downhill
trails will undergo works and will be laid out in a fun
way to satisfy all mountain bikers, from beginners to
advanced. There are many other development projects which
will take place over the next 3 years ; the opening of
the Crêt du Loup chair lift will provide access
to a large mountain bike area where new facilities will
be set up (track through the forest, area of fallen stones,
bike park...).
Note that certain sport
shops propose mountain bikes or bicycles hire.

With 120 km of mountain bike trails, La Clusaz is the ideal place to come mountain biking. The circuits are ranked according to difficulty like ski trails : green, blue, red, black Special mountain bike pass for the ski lifts.

Situated at an altitude of 1690 metres, the trail is accessible in 10 minutes thanks to the new Beauregard gondola. It now offers experienced mountain bikers an exceptional course, filled with excitement. At 3.3 kms long, with a vertical drop of 600 metres, the trail combines all of the demanding sections that mountain bike fans will love: bends, man made jumps, footbridge positioned above the ground, bridge... All in an exceptional setting amongst forests and high mountain pastures.

La Grenêche downhill speed trail is also for experienced mountain bikers. At 2700 metres long, with a vertical drop of 400 metres, many thrills are in store: 19 bends through the trees and the meadows, starting out from the top of the Crêt du Merle chair lift.

From July 13th to August 24th, open Thursday evenings: 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Etale cable car: daily from July 8th to August 27th: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm. Crêt du Merle chairlift: from July 1st to August 27th: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2 pm to 5.30 pm.

Lifts up and down the mountains, open to all.
Beauregard gondola lift: for hikers, mountain bikers and paragliders. Panoramic view over the Aravis Range and access to Beauregard Plateau (1650m).
Patinoire gondola lift: access to the summer toboggan run.
Etale cable car: at an altitude of 2400 metres, hikers, mountain bikers and paragliders will appreciate the viewpoint over the Mont-Blanc range.
Crêt du Merle chairlift: for hikers, mountain bikers and paragliders. It provides access to the mountain bike dowhill trail. |
